Our story

Built by a coach who got tired of spreadsheets.

GameStats started as a personal project. Now it's used by clubs and schools around the world.

GameStats started as a personal project. The founder was coaching a local netball team and — like every coach before them — was keeping stats in a notebook and trying to remember what happened three quarters ago. Spreadsheets helped, but only barely. Building the rotation grid for trials took an entire evening. Getting all the selectors to agree on ratings meant an argument at the selection meeting.

So a tool was built. First, a simple stats console. Then a live dashboard. Then the trials module. Then AI summaries that turned a page of raw numbers into something a coach could actually read on the drive home.

It quickly became clear that this wasn't just a personal problem. Every club was struggling with the same things: manual stats, messy trials, no data to back up the decisions they were already making by instinct. The tools that existed either cost more than most grassroots budgets could absorb, charged per player — which added up fast at trials time — or were built for professional teams with full-time analysts.

GameStats was built for the other 99%. The club administrator volunteering on weeknights. The school sports coordinator running three age groups across two days. The head coach who knows their team inside out but could use a second opinion backed by actual data.

We started small. We're now used by clubs and schools around the world, with more coming every season. The product keeps improving — AI insights, offline mode, shareable dashboards — but the mission has never changed: modern coaching tools at a price that works for grassroots sport.

What we believe

The principles behind the product.

Three ideas that guide every decision we make.

01

Coaching decisions should be backed by data, not politics.

Selection arguments happen when there is no shared source of truth. We build the tools that make the data the conversation — not the personalities.

02

Trial day should be the easiest part of the season, not the hardest.

Trials are stressful enough without the admin chaos. Rotations in seconds. Digital voting. Data-backed team selection. That is what we deliver.

03

Great software should be accessible to grassroots clubs.

Professional teams have analysts and six-figure budgets. We think the U14 school team deserves the same quality of tools at a price that actually works.
